Portfolio Slicer with Excel 2013+

Portfolio Slicer can work with Excel 2013 and later versions that provide the Power Pivot capabilities required by your workflow.

For Excel 2013 specifically, some editions allow you to run the model but not fully inspect or change it through the Power Pivot interface. Later Excel versions generally make this experience easier, but the same general guidance still applies.

If your Excel environment does not expose the full Power Pivot interface, the safest option is usually to keep the default external data location (C:\PortfolioSlicer\PSData\).

If Power Pivot needs to be enabled in Excel, go to:

  1. File
  2. Options
  3. Add-Ins
  4. COM Add-ins
  5. Go

Then make sure the Power Pivot add-in is enabled.
