Overview

Portfolio Slicer workbooks load external files such as:

  • CurrencyConv.csv
  • Dates.csv
  • Dividends.csv
  • Quotes.csv

In Excel 2010, changing those file paths is done through the PowerPivot connection management workflow.

General Process

  1. open the workbook
  2. open the PowerPivot window
  3. open the existing connections list
  4. edit each file connection
  5. save the updated paths
  6. refresh the workbook and validate the results

Practical Recommendation

If you are on Excel 2010, treat this as a legacy maintenance workflow.
